Recycled packaging hunt

The £200 per tonne tax on plastic packaging which doesn’t have 30% recycled content is already affecting the market.

Demand for recycled materials has shot up. Some suppliers are struggling to source stocks, and you might have found yourself having to pay the premium for virgin materials when you, and your customers, would have preferred a greener option.

We’ve heard of plastics suppliers who are using all their regran themselves to avoid the tax. The end-user, wanting to pick a more sustainable and more affordable option, is at the back of the queue.

That could be very bad news. Especially if a shortage of recycled materials affects your ability to honour commitments made to your customers and your turnover takes a dive.

Are you ready for some good news?

We were anticipating the impact of the tax and were ready for its effects. We have developed robust supply chains and we’ve not experienced the difficulties other converters are reporting.

Even if you’re not an existing Flextex customer, we’re able to supply materials that don’t come with the burden of the tax. We’ve got plenty of options in our eco-friendly range.
